Este documento solo está disponible en inglés. Si tienes preguntas, escríbenos a [email protected].

This Privacy Policy explains how Center for Inquiry School 70 PTSA (“CFI 70 PTSA,” “we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit our website at cfi70ptsa.org (the “Site”), contact us, or ask us about our products or services.

We collect only what we need to respond to you and run our business. We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising.

A quick summary

This summary is for convenience; the full policy below controls.

  • When you contact us or fill out a form, we use what you send us to respond, give you information or quotes, and provide what you ask for.
  • When you browse the Site, our servers receive technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, so they can deliver pages and protect the Site from abuse.
  • We use PostHog to understand how people use the Site. Where the law requires your consent first (for example, in the EU and UK), it doesn't run until you agree through our cookie banner, and we honor Global Privacy Control.
  • We don't sell personal information and don't share it for targeted advertising.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your information. See Your privacy rights.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact and form information. When you contact us by email, phone or a form on the Site, we collect what you choose to give us, such as your name, email address, phone number, mailing or project address, and the details of your message or request.
  • Customer information. If you become a customer, we collect the information we need to provide our products or services, communicate with you, and invoice you and record your payments.
  • Communications. The messages you send us and our replies.

Please don't send us sensitive information, such as health information, payment card or bank details, or Social Security or other government ID numbers, through the Site's forms.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical information. Like every website, the Site's servers receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request and the website that referred you. It's used to deliver pages, keep the Site secure and prevent abuse.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See Cookies and analytics.

Information from others

We may receive information about you from people who refer you to us, from our business partners, or from public sources, such as property records relevant to a project you ask us about.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to your questions and requests, and give you information, estimates or quotes;
  • provide, manage and support the products or services you ask for;
  • communicate with you about your request, project or account;
  • send you news or offers, where you've agreed or the law otherwise allows. You can opt out at any time;
  • understand how the Site is used, so we can fix problems and improve it;
  • keep the Site and our business secure, and prevent fraud, spam and abuse;
  • keep business and accounting records, meet our legal obligations, and protect our rights.

Where laws like the GDPR apply, we rely on these legal bases:

  • Contract: to respond to your requests before entering into a contract with you, and to provide what we've agreed to.
  • Legitimate interests: to run, secure and improve our business and the Site, always balanced against your rights. You can object at any time.
  • Consent: for analytics cookies and marketing where the law requires it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation: to keep required records and respond to lawful requests.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser; similar technologies, like local storage, work the same way. The Site uses:

  • Necessary cookies, which make the Site work, for example by remembering your cookie choices and protecting forms from bots. They can't be switched off without breaking those features.
  • Analytics cookies, which let PostHog recognize a returning browser so we can see which pages people visit and where they run into problems. We use this information only in aggregate to improve the Site, and we don't use it to identify you or advertise to you.

We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't let advertisers track you on the Site.

Your choices

  • Where consent is required (for example, for visitors in the EU, the UK and Switzerland), analytics cookies don't load until you agree through our cookie banner, and you can change your mind at any time.
  • Elsewhere, you can opt out of analytics at any time through the Site's cookie settings.
  • Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out of analytics for that browser, and as a request to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (which we don't do anyway).
  • You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings.

Tools from other companies

Some parts of the Site, such as embedded forms, scheduling tools, maps or videos, may be provided by other companies. When you use them, those companies may collect information under their own privacy policies. We choose them carefully, but we aren't responsible for their practices; please review their policies.

How we share information

We share personal information only as described here:

  • Service providers that help us run the Site and our business, such as our website host (Colin Makes Software and its infrastructure providers, such as Cloudflare), our analytics provider (PostHog), and the email, customer management, scheduling, accounting and payment tools we use. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
  • People who help with your project or request, such as subcontractors, suppliers or partners, when it's needed to provide what you asked for.
  • Professional advisers, such as lawyers, accountants and insurers, under a duty of confidentiality.
  • Legal and safety reasons: when we believe in good faith that the law or a valid legal request requires it, or that it's needed to protect the rights, safety or property of you, others or us.
  • Business transfers: if our business is sold, merged or reorganized, to the new owner, who must keep protecting your information as this policy describes.
  • With your permission, for any other purpose you agree to.

We don't sell personal information, for money or anything else of value, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy:

  • Inquiries that don't lead to work together: for as long as they're useful for following up, and then we delete them.
  • Customer records: for as long as you're a customer, and afterwards as long as needed for warranties, disputes and our legal obligations. Tax and accounting records are usually kept for up to seven years.
  • Technical information and analytics: only as long as it's useful for keeping the Site secure and improving it.

Your privacy rights

We give these rights to everyone, wherever you live:

  • Access: ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
  • Correction: ask us to fix information that's wrong.
  • Deletion: ask us to delete your information, unless we need to keep it, for example to meet a legal obligation.
  • Portability: get your information in a common, machine-readable format.
  • Objection and restriction: ask us to stop or limit certain uses of your information.
  • Withdraw consent: wherever we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time.
  • Opt out of marketing: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contact us.
  • Non-discrimination: we won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.

How to make a request. Email [email protected]. We'll confirm your identity, usually by confirming you control the email address we have on file, and respond within the time the law requires (within 30 days in most cases). You can use an authorized agent where the law allows. If we decline your request, we'll explain why, and you can appeal by replying to our response.

If you're in the EU, UK or Switzerland, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We'd appreciate the chance to address your concern first.

Security

We protect personal information with reasonable measures appropriate to its sensitivity, such as encryption in transit and access controls. No website or system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you, and any regulators, as the law requires.

International visitors

We're based in the United States, and the Site and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries, whose privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children's privacy

The Site is meant for adults and isn't directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU and UK). We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

The Site may link to websites we don't operate. This policy doesn't cover them, so please review their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post any update here with a new “Last updated” date, and if a change is material, we'll give more prominent notice, such as on the Site. We won't make a material change to how we use information we've already collected without the consent the law requires.
